The architecture of life no longer behaves the way it once did. Our cherished ways of relating, healing, manifesting, praying, journeying, and even understanding ourselves do not seem to produce the same results they once did.
What once felt spiritually open now feels dense, and what once felt coherent is now feeling fragmented. It is as though the substance or machinery of reality has been taken apart and rebuilt around us. It feels like the Matrix has been remodelled, updated and re-uploaded and the veil has been reconfigured.
The old cogs no longer fit the same way because the larger machine is no longer the same machine. Parts have been removed. Pathways have be closed shut - for now. The field that once held our identity, our vows, our relationships, and our access to spirit, has warped. Is this why so many of us feel as though life is simultaneously dismantling and refining us at the same time?
One of the clearest effects of this shift is the collapse and expiration of old spiritual and human contracts.
These are the deep agreements that shape one's life: vows of suffering, service, silence, struggle, martyrdom, invisibility, loyalty, spiritual role, family burden, and identity. Some of these vows were conscious. Many, we inherited, absorbed, or formed when we were struggling in fear, immaturity, trauma, and limited awareness.
These patterns are described in Indian cosmologies through concepts like karma and samsara—the lawful continuity of action, consequence, and conditioned existence.
Karma is the resulting fruit of your actions - in which actions shape future experience. Samsara refers to the ongoing cycle of conditioned existence shaped by those forces. The wheel keeps going round and around until awakened consciousness jumps off it.
This came to me in a sacred ceremony as a journey download. The sensations being felt unconsciously by sensitives, is that old agreements can no longer move forward unchanged. We have to review them in the light of present centred awareness. Some need updating. Some need refinement. Some need to be consciously revoked and cancelled.
Life has matured.
In Hindu philosophical cosmology, they talk about the concept of Maya, which is often described as the illusion or veil of apparent reality. The veil that causes the Matrix to be mistaken for the 'real' reality. Maya is the force that gives us the illusion that the visible world is the whole truth.
The veil of Maya now feels thicker, noisier, and more chaotic. Or has it always been that way and I'm just catching up? Meh, thought for another day.
The 'interface' by which we access spirit, has insidiously changed.
Notice how the old access points still exist, but have become less reliable, especially if you use them mechanically. Repetition without presence no longer works. Spiritual technique without purity, embodiment, or discernment has distorted the available frequency. The psychic noise is polluting our inner signals and old rituals.
Again, we now have to re-learn how to listen, how to stabilise and ground, how to verify, how to remain clean, and how to distinguish genuine contact from projection, fantasy, emotional residue, or collective interference. WTAF!
Those of you who have studied with me, will know what I'm about to say next: Excellent, new upgrades and initiations!
My understanding is that science supports the idea that we do not experience reality directly, anyway. Perception is described as an active construction rather than a passive recording of the world. The brain is continually generating expectations and models that then shapes what we perceive. We see what we are expecting, whether that expectation was shaped consciously or unconsciously.
This vantage point gives us a 'lens change' metaphor, and the idea that the perception of our world changes as we change the lens (perspective). For a spiritual aspirant, this might suggest that awakening is not just about seeing more. It is also about refining the lens and perspective that informs how we see.
If we are indeed having to navigate a 'new' reality, I personally believe it is asking us to become more integrated. More embodied. More grounded. More coherent. Thinking and perception are not separate from the body. They are shaped by our bodily states, and our lived experience within the world. In other words, consciousness is not floating above the body, (it is for some - as seen in soul retrieval work), as a detached observer. The body is the instrument of participation that shapes how meaning is formed and how experience is cognised.
So if Maya has become thicker, then bypassing the body is no longer a reliable route to clarity (has it ever been?). We must train our body to become a vessel of discernment. Grounding has stopped being a beginner’s exercise. It should now be considered advanced work. Presence is no longer denigrated to the thing we do before something great happens. It is the method that makes something great happen. Purity is not us being clean, innocent, untainted - it's signal quality. We purify our being so that the quality of our perception refines.
I was taught that the 'kali yuga' (the dark age we are in), provides fertile ground for pure awakening. Against the backdrop of the dark, the light can shine brighter. So this reality shift that has created a dense filter over perception can be used positively. A denser field has to force cleaner alignment. A more chaotic matrix must demand deeper truthfulness. A noisier collective field will end up training stronger discernment.
We are being invited into something more honest: create real grounded, alive and aware, contracts, for transformation. When life feels like 'arse', we are called into action to respond.
Alignment still matters. Integrity still matters and Clarity still gracefully moves us forwards. The deep laws are still in place. What seems to be changing is the terrain through which we meet them. So this new phase is not merely a harsher reality. It is a more exacting one - and since it is more exacting, it can also produce purer awakening.
This Matrix re-upload is imploring us to become conscious participants in our own reconfiguration. It asks us to examine the vows we still live by. It asks us to notice which actions still carry truth and which have just become habit. It's making us have to re-learn how to access spirit with greater cleanliness, stronger embodiment, deeper humility, and finer discernment. It asks us to update the foundational templates that define who we are. Yikes!
For the beginner, this may translate to understanding that awakening is not always blissful or neat. It begins as confusion, disassembly, and the collapse of what does not fit us. For the experienced practitioner, it means accepting that mastery requires another initiation. This initiation will force you, kicking and screaming, to release your outdated spiritual map and to actually become teachable again.
The matrix may have changed. We are being initiated into a more mature relationship with reality. — one in which the path is less about escaping the world and more about embodying our soul more fully, more cleanly, and so truthfully that the highest frequencies can once again be reached through an awakened body, a clarified spirit, and a consciousness no longer willing to live by old contracts.
This is the beginning of a more refined access to this creation.
